Впервые в истории на сцене конкурса «Мисс Вселенная» появится представительница ОАЭ. Модель и мать троих детей Эмилия Добрева, которая была коронована как «Мисс Вселенная ОАЭ» в октябре на закрытом конкурсе, будет представлять страну на всемирном мероприятии. Эмилия живет в ОАЭ уже более десяти лет, замужем за эмиратцем и говорит по-арабски.
Как рассказали организаторы конкурса, на титул «Мисс Вселенная ОАЭ» было подано более 1000 заявок, среди которых были как эмиратки, так и иностранки. Команда конкурса усердно работала, чтобы отобрать 16 лучших кандидаток. «Мы с самого начала знали, что хотим, чтобы в конкурсе могли участвовать как эмиратцы, так и экспаты, – сказали представители конкурса, – Экспатрианты внесли значительный вклад в строительство страны, и мы хотели, чтобы они получили первый в истории шанс представлять ОАЭ в таком глобальном конкурсе, как «Мисс Вселенная».
В финале конкурса «Мисс Вселенная», который состоится 16 ноября в Мехико, Эмилия пройдет по подиуму вместе с конкурсантками из 130 стран со всего мира. В раунде, посвященном национальным костюмам, Эмилия наденет абайю, которая станет данью уважения ОАЭ.
Исторически сложилось так, что к участию в конкурсе «Мисс Вселенная» допускались только незамужние модели в возрасте от 18 до 28 лет. Однако в 2023 году все ограничения, связанные с возрастом, ростом, весом и семейным положением, были сняты в попытке отойти от формата конкурса красоты в сторону платформы для расширения прав и возможностей женщин. Помимо ОАЭ, на конкурсе дебютируют представительницы еще девяти стран.

In the final of the Miss Universe pageant, which will take place on November 16 in Mexico City, Emilia will walk along the podium with contestants from 130 countries from around the world. In the round dedicated to national costumes, Emilia will wear an abaya, which will be a tribute to the UAE.
Historically, only unmarried models between the ages of 18 and 28 were allowed to participate in the Miss Universe pageant. However, in 2023, all restrictions related to age, height, weight and marital status were lifted in an attempt to move away from the beauty pageant format towards a platform for women’s empowerment. In addition to the UAE, representatives of nine other countries will make their debut at the competition.
