В пятый раз подряд Дубай занял первое место в рейтинге самых чистых городов мира, согласно последнему отчету Global Power City Index (GPCI), опубликованному Институтом городских стратегий при Фонде памяти Мори в Японии.
В рейтинге эмират, который стремится стать эталоном для городов будущего, в том числе с точки зрения экологического совершенства, опередил более 47 городов мира и набрал 100% по показателю удовлетворенности жителей чистотой на улицах.
Именно фактор состояния окружающей среды является в рейтинге одним из главных критериев глобальной устойчивости городов. В Дубае, как известно, реализуется комплексная стратегия управления отходами, подразумевающая сокращение производства отходов на 18% и 100-процентное перенаправление отходов со свалок к 2041 году.
В команде Муниципалитета Дубая, который отвечает за чистоту городских улиц и пространств, трудятся 3200 контролеров, руководителей и инженеров. Кроме того, муниципальный парк состоит из 855 современных транспортных средств, машин и оборудования, которые функционируют 365 дней в году.
Ежедневно работники муниципалитета поддерживают чистоту на 2400 км основных дорог и автомагистралей, а также 33,4 водных каналов, в жилых, промышленных и сельских районах эмирата. Программы муниципалитета содержат протоколы по удалению опасных и медицинских отходов.
Также муниципалитет занимается вывозом брошенных транспортных средств и оборудования и поддерживает создание экологически безопасной системы управления отходами.
For the fifth time in a row, Dubai has taken first place in the ranking of the cleanest cities in the world, according to the latest Global Power City Index (GPCI) report published by the Institute for Urban Strategies at the Mori Memorial Foundation in Japan.
In the ranking, the emirate, which strives to become a benchmark for cities of the future, including in terms of environmental excellence, was ahead of more than 47 cities in the world and scored 100% in terms of residents’ satisfaction with cleanliness on the streets.
It is the environmental factor that is one of the main criteria for the global sustainability of cities in the ranking. Dubai is known to be implementing a comprehensive waste management strategy, which implies an 18% reduction in waste production and a 100% redirection of waste from landfills by 2041.
The Dubai Municipality team, which is responsible for the cleanliness of city streets and spaces, employs 3,200 supervisors, managers and engineers. In addition, the municipal fleet consists of 855 modern vehicles, machinery and equipment that operate 365 days a year.
Every day, municipal employees maintain cleanliness on 2,400 km of main roads and highways, as well as 33.4 water channels, in residential, industrial and rural areas of the emirate. The municipality’s programs contain protocols for the disposal of hazardous and medical waste.
The municipality also handles the removal of abandoned vehicles and equipment and supports the creation of an environmentally sound waste management system.
